Abstract

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of research on fiscal decentralization over the past fifty years (1974-2024), based on data from the Scopus database. By employing bibliometric tools, such as VOSviewer, we analyze publication trends, key topics, prominent authors, and countries contributing to the literature. The results indicate significant research growth in fiscal decentralization, with China emerging as a leading research hub. Our analysis also uncovers thematic connections between fiscal decentralization and governance, environmental policy, and public health, suggesting the broad relevance of this topic across various disciplines. These findings offer valuable insights for both policymakers and scholars aiming to understand the evolving discourse on fiscal decentralization.
