Problems of strategic management in municipalities of Lithuania

Abstract

The article disscuses about problems of development and action planning in local governments of Lithuania. It is found, that there are no development planning techniques prepeared for local governments, the planning itself is not regulated by ant law. In development planning of self governments the principle of area planning is not used widely enough. Action and development plans of local governments are prepared by different techniques, which are not consistent with each other.
