Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to overcome the latest threats to socio-economic and political security in its area of responsibility. Recently, membership in the SCO has been updated for the countries of Central Asia in the context of the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and post-coronavirus recovery. Standing up against such challenges highlights a number of problems specific to the SCO itself, the effect of which is obvious to the Central Asian members of the Organization.
