In the modern world, religion plays an important role in the formation of international relations, as well as in building domestic politics and a stable state. However, in addition to the creative effect, with the increasing role of religion, negative aspects of religious life can also appear. In this article, the author analyzes the current situation of the state policy of Kazakhstan in the religious sphere. The article analyzed the legal acts, official statistical data of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists in this field. According to the results of the study, the author argues that the state religious policy can be described as balanced and consistent with a secular and tolerant state. At this stage of development and taking into account the geopolitical situation, the state needs to increase the level of ongoing information work and continue to develop in this direction.
