Abstract

The article deals with the issues of Israel’s cooperation with the Republic of Kazakhstan. The founders of the country envisioned the time when Israel would be able to conduct a full-fledged dialogue with a large number of countries where the Muslim population is dominant since these countries were the natural neighbours of the Jewish State that appeared on the world map in May 1948. Among the countries of Central Asia, Kazakhstan has established the most intensive ties with Israel in terms of the scope of cooperation and its diversity. «Kazakhstan is Israel’s top economic partner in the Muslim world», says «Haaretz», Israel’s leading newspaper. It was also the first Central Asian country to send its ambassador to Israel in May 1996. Israel has become part of Kazakhstan’s policy in the Western countries although geographically it is part of its Middle East interests. Over the past years Israel has successfully implemented with Kazakhstan its agenda of cooperation with predominantly Muslim countries having established very close ties with this Central Asian state and achieving shortly what other countries have not.
