Abstract

The sustainable socio-economic development and competitive growth of the regions remain one of the promising directions of the national policy of our country at the present stage of it's development. Social and economic problems of small towns, the crisis of their development today presents a problem of a national importance. This article discusses the general characteristic of the small cities of Kazakhstan, their economic and social situation, and also the main problems of development in modem conditions is given.
