The authors proposed using key performance indicators (KPIs) as one of the tools to achieve the goals of organizations and departments operating in the field of ensuring the uniformity of measurements. The article develops a methodology for the implementation and evaluation of KPIs on the example of the position of the chief metrologist of LLC «Independent Metrological Consumer Support», Kazan. The main focus of KPI as a management tool is aimed at achieving the goals of the organization, evaluating the activities of employees and making decisions based on this assessment. The developed KPI system, due to its transparency and focus on these three aspects, will allow firstly, at the level of the management position of the metrological service, to monitor the effectiveness of the metrological service of the organization, in order to provide metrological services of the highest quality to a growing number of customers and maintain their trust; secondly, to maintain the loyalty of employees to the organization, involving them in the process of improving their activities and encouraging for the work done efficiently and efficiently.
