Influence of Japan and South Korea in the ATMA: history and prospects of economic competition

In the XXI century, the place of Asia began to play the role of the main strategic platform. Evidence of this is the growing competitiveness of Asian states in the global economy and interest in creating a common market through mutual integration in region countries. Many international affairs experts accept huge geopolitical power of the Asia-Pacific region. This opinion is relevant because the region traditionally covers 58 countries. Among them are such major geopolitical actors as China, the United States, Japan and South Korea, which hold an upcoming position in the international arena. This article will consider the role of Japan and South Korea in this region. Since there are free trade zones, as well as ASEAN, APEC, etc. both countries see the present moment as a time of its economic prosperity. In this regard, the main purpose of this article is to determine the influence of these two countries on the region, to observe the process of emergence and development of this economic competition between them, as well as to conduct an assessment analysis of the leadership potential of each country.
