Abstract

The authors considers the transport policy of Kazakhstan as one of the important directions in the implementation of the goals of foreign policy and ensuring the national interests of the state. Transport corridors have become relevant in recent years due to the increased diversification of the economy and the departure from the raw materials orientation. Moreover, under the conditions of sanctions restrictions, the state is aimed at finding new ways of transit, exporting/ importing goods and expanding the circle of foreign economic partners. The article uses methods of comparative analysis of transport corridors within the framework of the EAEU and the Belt and Road project. The method of system – functional analysis was also applied to study a single vector of transport policy. As a result, the conclusion was made about the priority of the development of Kazakhstan as a transport hub in the Central Asian region and the intensification of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
