The aim of the report is to reveal the influence the media has over the relation between religion and politics and its potential to be used agains radicalization in Western societies. The report gives a brief description of the way media works and defines the role it has as a mediator. Secondly, it presents the term ‘political capital’. The paper examines the way in which media provides a possibility for political capital to be accumulated.The hypothesis claims that media can be used as an efficient tool while fighting terrorism and radicalization and to lower the lever of radicalization in Western societies.
