Abstract

Events in the world allow us to confidently say that the ethnic issue is relevant today as ever. Most countries in the world are not homogeneous in ethnic composition. To preserve interethnic harmony in these countries protection and equality of their social and cultural rights as well as their political abilities are needed. These rights and abilities can be brought into effect through political representation, methods and mechanisms of which are different depending on the specifics of each country.
The analysis of ethnic groups’ political representation in multi-ethnic states will help to assess the national policy of Kazakhstan, to compare the effectiveness of Kazakhstan’s experience of political representation, as well as to analyze the activities of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan on the issue.
