Main Directions of Sustainable Development of Livestock Farming in the Republic of Kazakhstan

The article discusses the features of livestock production in the sustainable development of the country. According to the authors, the main problems hindering the development of livestock farming include: incomplete coverage of farms with technologies; insufficient amount of feed; shortage of pasture lands; low water supply. The article systematizes indicators for assessing the sustainability of livestock farming, taking into account social, economic and environmental features. The authors of the article proposed a set of measures aimed at the sustainable development of livestock farming: it is mandatory to use quality standards when producing and processing livestock products; technological advances need to be combined with environmental factors; improve the system of domestic supply of livestock products; improvement of soil structure, introduction of effective pasture ecosystem providing nutrients.
