Abstract

Democratization processes that characterized the modern period lead to increasing influence of civil society on important policy decisions adopting. This article examines the role of non-governmental organizations of post-communist Bulgaria as one of the elements of the mechanism of formation of country’s foreign policy. It is exercised categorization of non-governmental organizations involved in foreign policy issues, highlighted the factors that determine their possibility to influence on government decision-making. It is revealed the main problems faced by non-government organizations in Bulgaria during their activity. It is marked forms of interaction between non-governmental organizations and public authorities, political parties, foreign funds.
