Naval policy of the People's Republic of China within the framework of the 21st century Maritime Silk Road project and relations with the countries of the Middle East

In an era of rapidly changing global political landscape and amidst China's rapid development, the contemporary military policy of this country emerges as a pivotal factor that captures the attention of the global community. Modern military policy and a set of military-political measures to modernize the army are declared by China as a step aimed at protecting the sovereignty, security and national interests of the country. Moreover, military policy is becoming an important direction for China’s development in implementing the strategic goals of the large-scale infrastructure geopolitical project “One Belt – One Road,” aimed at developing regional cooperation, trade and investment between East and West. In this regard, the article examines the development trends of modern military policy of the People's Republic of China, and also analyzes military-political interests in the Middle East. The military-political interests of China in the Persian Gulf, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean are studied, and relations with the leading countries of the region are examined.
