Abstract

One of the most important elements of state sovereignty is the foreign policy of the state, which should be independent and sovereign. Back in 1992, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, defined the main goal of foreign policy, in «creating a favorable external environment for the stable development of the country on the basis of political and economic reforms». Kazakhstan's foreign policy strategy - multi-vector policy, is defined as the concept of «soft power». It is the President who is the author of a multi-vector foreign policy, including well-known international initiatives that have received wide recognition from the world community. The main priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy are the protection of national interests, peacemaking initiatives of the state, ensuring regional and global security, protecting the rights and interests of Kazakhstan’s citizens, attracting foreign direct investment, strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, bringing objective information about Kazakhstan to international partners.
