The article offers a general overview of the current state of international relations between the Central Asian states and the main actors with interests in the region in the context of the main problems of intra-regional integration development. Special attention is paid to the characteristics of mutual relations between the Central Asian republics and the leading players in the international arena from the point of view of the analysis of their interests in the political, diplomatic, economic, and military-political spheres according to the formula "Central Asia+". A systematic approach and a comparative geopolitical method of scientific analysis were used when studying this issue. With the help of these methods, regional signs of the revival of interest in extra-regional powers in Central Asia were identified, and the driving motives of their proactive foreign policy towards the region were determined.
As a result, the specifics of interstate relations between the countries of Central Asia and Russia, China, the European Union, the United States, Turkey, and Afghanistan are highlighted and characterized through the prism of the possibility and prospects of implementing the idea of "Alty Alash".
